Andrew's Childhood
Andreas "Andrew" Brinker was born Feb. 23, 1760, the oldest child of Ulrich Brinker and Apollonia Bayer. He
was born in Lower Saucon Twsp. Northampton Co. Pennsylvania.
On Mar. 16, 1760, Andrew was christened at the Tohickon Union Church in Bedminster Twsp. Bucks Co.

On May ___, 1764 Andrew's grandfather Andreas Brinker died in Lower Saucon Twsp. Nothhampton Co. Pa.
May ___, 1764 Andrews father, Ulrich Brinker, inherited one third of his fathers farm which was twenty five

The 1767 Northhampton Co. tax list shows andrew's father owning one hundred acres of land, fifty of which was

Apr. 20, 1772 Andrew was enlisted as a Private in Lieut. Col. Cochin's 4th Co. 4th Batt. of the Northampton
Co. Militia and served during the Revolutionary War. Source:

Nov. 23, 1784 Andrew recieved a land warrant for 140 acres in Mt Pleasant Twsp. Westmoreland Co. along the Sewickly
Creek.
Mar. 28, 1785 Andrew Brinker married Barbara Leatherman, the daughter of Peter Leatherman, at Christ Church in
Tulpehocken, Burk's Co. Pa.

1806 Andrew sold his land in Westmoreland Co.
1807 Andrew moved to Salam Twsp. Columbiana Co. Ohio. Along with him and his family he carried the clock shown
here.
Description in the Lisbon Historical Society Building: "This clock is donated to the Lisbon Historical
Society in memory of my Mother, Ada (Brinker)Holloway. The clock was brought to the Lisbon area from Westmoreland Co., Pa.
in 1807 by Andrew Brinker. It was in the homes of Brinkers for five generations. In 1960 it was given to me by the late Wm.(Ted)Brinker,
my Mother's younger brother. By 1961, I had completely restored the clock and it has kept excellent time ever since. It is
hoped that by the clock being put to rest in the old Stone House Museum it will be visited by the many local descendants of
the early Brinker family. Walter L. Holloway, Columbus, Ohio.
